ASLA-NY Announces 2024 Design Award Winners

Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. received this year's Award of Excellence for Setting a New Ecological Agenda for Brooklyn's Oldest Public Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, NY. By innovatively reducing the garden's reliance on freshwater, the Water Conservation Project and Children's Discovery Garden become a model of sustainability and education.
Nancy Owens Studio Landscape Architecture + Urban Design PLLC received this year's Board Choice Award from the ASLA-NY Executive Board for the renovation of Astoria Park Charybdis Playground & Waterplay in Queens, NY.
SWA/Balsley received an Honor Award for the SIPG Harbour City Parks in Shanghai, China that transforms an old steel port into a mile-long park along the Yangtze River.
HMWhite received a Merit Award for Radio Park in New York City, New York, which turned Radio City Music Hall's roof into a ? 1/2 -acre land bridge connecting adjacent office buildings.

The New York ASLA Chapter recently announced the winners of this year's annual Design Awards, where a jury from ASLA South Carolina and the ASLA-NY Executive Board gave 26 awards total. Pictures and descriptions of all projects can be found on the ASLA-NY website.
