The Center for Landscape Architecture in Washington D.C. earned the "Well Certified Gold" certification by Staff
The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) announced that they have received a Gold WELL Certification for their Washington D.C. Center for Landscape Architecture. It is both the first Gold certification in the capital and largest certification in D.C. The International WELL Building Institute awarded ASLA with this certification that focuses on people's health and well-being when it comes to building design. The ASLA building earned the Gold certification by meeting or exceeding the standards set out by the WELL Certificate that is judged with seven categories that are air, water, light, nourishment, fitness, comfort, and mind. "ASLA pursued WELL Certification because of our commitment to our members, our staff and our community, and we're very proud of what we've achieved," stated ASLA CEO Torey Carter-Conneen. The building also features a number of green design pieces such as a green roof, a green canopy, and a side garden with a rainwater cistern.
