What's Going on Across Chapters

Caption: From awards ceremonies to mentorship programs, here is what is going on in ASLA chapters across the nation this week, August 20, 2021.

ASLA Colorado Chapter is hosting their 2021 "Getting Back Together" Awards Ceremony at the Denver Botanic Gardens on Thursday September 2, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration is open and ASLA National President Thomas L. Morz, FASLA, from Michigan will be an honored guest.

The Utah Chapter is launching their 2021-22 academic ASLA Utah/LAEP mentorship program. This program gives mentors and mentees the freedom to choose how and when they communicate, giving mentees a greater understanding of landscape architecture at a moment's notice. Commitment is one academic year. If interested fill out a survey by August 20 and you will be notified by September 22.

ASLA New York released a grant to send a landscape professional who has financial constraints to the ASLA National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on November 19 through 22. The grant is prioritizing Black, Indigenous and People of Color who work or reside within the ASLA NY chapter boundary and have graduated from a Landscape Architecture Bachelors program or Landscape Architecture Masters program in the last eight years. Application deadline is September 3.

The Florida ASLA Chapter is recognizing 33 projects at the 2021 Virtual Design Awards: Gala in the Garden on Thursday October 14 at 6 p.m. on zoom. The Design Awards Gala celebrates student and professional achievement in the landscape architecture field.
