On January 8th, 2026, ASLA announced the nominees for the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees. The President-Elect nominees are Chris Della Vedova, FASLA and Jennifer Nitzky, FASLA. More information regarding the presidential-elect candidates will come in the March issue of Landscape Architect News Digest (LAND). Alongside the candidates' statements and biographies, a forum will be featured where the candidates will respond to questions from the current ASLA president about the future of landscape architecture and ASLA.

 
This year, ASLA is opening two Vice President positions: VP Membership and VP Professional Practice. The VP Membership nominees are Jennifer Cross, ASLA and Taylor Keegan, ASLA. The VP Professional Practice nominees are Aida Curtis, ASLA and Andrew Wickham, ASLA.

Any Full Member is eligible to become an ASLA Officer. Any Full Member of ASLA can be nominated to serve as Vice President, if they are in good standing. Any Full Member who previously served as Vice President or as a Trustee of the Society can be nominated to serve as President of ASLA.

Every June, ASLA issues a call for potential officer candidates. Any ASLA member can submit a Full Member to be nominated; members have explicit permission from ASLA to nominate themselves if they so choose. After the call closes, ASLA contacts the suggested candidates to see who is interested. The interested candidate submits their qualifications, and any other required materials, to the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee is composed of Trustees, Chapter Presidents, Fellows, and Presidents. They meet prior to the annual conference to discuss the candidates and create the ballot featuring two candidates per office.

Elections for President-Elect will take place beginning May 5th, 2026. Every Full, Fellow, Associate, Student, and International Member of ASLA will be able to cast their vote, if they are in good standing. The Board of Trustees will elect the Vice Presidents during the Spring Meeting at the end of April.
