ASLA Analyzes Inflation Reduction Act

The Inflation Reduction Act was recently passed by Congress and President Biden is expected to also pass the law. The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is aligned with the values presented by the legislation and supports them according to an article they posted today. The main thing that the ASLA points out is that the $369 billion improves climate issues using strategies related to landscape architecture.

Things like Complete Streets, trails, and other approaches that could be led by landscape architects are all recognized by the Inflation Reduction Act. Some of the specific programs that will be funded by this are the Neighborhood Access and Equity Grant Program, the Low Carbon Transportation Materials Grants, a number of National Parks Grants, and numerous provisions for government agencies to address climate inadequacies and invest in climate-smart practices.
