Once again this winter, Project EverGreen's SnowCare for Troops program is helping military families with a much-appreciated service. The initiative provides more than 3,700 families of military personnel that are currently deployed, as well as the families of wounded and disabled veterans, with complimentary snow and ice removal services.

Because there are new military families and veterans requesting assistance, the program's sponsors, who include BOSS Snowplow, a manufacturer of snowplows, spreaders and accessories, recently put out a request for more volunteers to meet this need.

As for the program's benefits, executive director Cindy Code stated, "Not only does it lift an obvious burden off the shoulders of military families, it's also a great way for the green industry to share our passion."

According to Code, volunteers are able to select the number of families they are willing to serve and the service area range they are able to cover.
