The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) have announced their 2021 National Elections are now open. In this election ASLA members will be voting to decide who will assume the role of the next president-elect for 2021-2022.

This year's ASLA election features two candidates in Emily M. O'Mahoney, ASLA and SuLin Kotowicz, ASLA. O'Mahoney serves on the Climate Action Committee representing Florida, and as the chair of the LARE and Professional Practice Committee. In 2016, she was the recipient of the ASLA Outstanding Service Award in 2016.

As an ASLA member for over two decades, Kotowicz has served the profession through her involvement in advocacy intitaitves. Additionally, she has been a part of the ASLA Michigan Chapter for 12 years as the secretary and treasurer, and as the chapter president for two consecutive terms.

The elections initially opened up on April 27 and will remain open through May 27. The association announced that every full, associate, and international member of the ASLA in good professional standing are eligible to vote and will received a ballot through email and/or a paper ballot.
