Aerating fountains can be cost effective to run. They raise property values and add to the overall beauty of a landscape. Once you have determined that the aerating fountain is appropriate for the needs of your pond, there are numerous extras that can be added to it, all of which are becoming increasingly popular. Manufacturers, like Wesco Fountains are developing more and more creative nozzle displays that can make the aerating fountain look extremely impressive.
Aerators create a circulation pattern, discouraging thermal stratification; reduce iron in irrigation water which may stain cart paths and buildings; thwart fish kills caused by a shortage of dissolved oxygen; help aerobic bacteria breakdown nutrients, thus deterring algae blooms and odor; prevent sludge from settling at the bottom; eliminate odors caused by decaying matter and can break up stagnant waters where mosquitoes and other insects breed.
Generally speaking, pond aerators are meant to be functional, not aesthetically pleasing. Therefore pond aerators are usually found in more commercial applications such as: commercial aquaculture, agricultural ponds, industrial plants and municipal waste water facilities, where aesthetics are not necessary or desired. Kasco pond aerators are self-contained and lightweight units, which float on the water?EUR??,,????'???s surface and feature a single power cord that returns to the shore. Two or three mooring lines anchor the unit.
Aerating fountains however, are usually found at golf courses, resorts, cemeteries or campuses where aesthetics and function go hand-in-hand. While these fountains provide beautiful displays, they are also exceptional at adding valuable oxygen to a lake or pond. Coupled with low operating costs, aerating fountains are the obvious solution for lakes and ponds.
Aerators provide natural solutions to water quality problems that threaten your pond or lake. Both their surface and sub-surface aeration systems effectively induce oxygen into the water column promoting natural aerobic digestion of excessive waste, run-off and algae that can consume your water features. Ideal for irrigation, recreational and leisure ponds, inlets and canals. Otterbine aerating fountains for example are good for water quality while looking good too.
Fountain aeration can beautify a water body while keeping down algae formations, and aiding the natural cleansing process.
These water features provide aeration, cool the surface water with standard deep suction, continuously circulate water to prevent stagnant water for mosquito breeding and add the sound and beauty of water to the landscape.
