Todd Valley Farms owns the exclusive rights to Legacy and Prestige turf-type buffalograss developed by the University of Nebraska and UC Verde turf-type buffalograss developed by the University of California. These low water using and drought tolerant turfgrass use 75 less water than bluegrass or fescue and 40 less water than Bermuda. Legacy is cold tolerant into Canada grows only 3 to 6 inches tall and is resistant to most turf insects and diseases. Prestige has a bright green color and is the top rated buffalograss in the south and southeastern United States. UC Verde is the preferred grass in California and Phoenix areas. It is also resistant to insects and diseases and will prevent nearly all weed growth without the use of chemicals. Buffalograss is the only turfgrass native to the U.S. and Canada. Todd Valley Farms also owns world wide rights to Bella a deep rooted bluegrass that only grows to an average of 3 to 4 inches tall reducing mowing up to 80. Bella is very dark green with excellant disease resistance and performs well in sun or shade. Bella does not produce viable seed and is available as sod or plugs.
