Federation Housing could have gone with permeable pavers for the garden paths and patio at the Samuel A. Green House apartments. But, then they would have been required to install extra stormwater retention features at grade - adding costs and detracting from the beautiful landscape. They also wanted a safe, non-slip surface for the elderly residents.

The solution? Garrett Churchill, Inc. paved the five-foot-wide walking paths and 24-foot-diameter patio with Porous Pave XL, made with 50 percent recycled rubber chips and 50 percent kiln-dried aggregate mixed on site with a liquid binder.
