Some of our more scenic projects that American Timber and Steel has supplied timbers have been bridges for Golf Courses and Rails-to-Trails Bikeways. Project engineers and architects specify our quality timbers not only for their high strength and great looks but also because they are treated to last for decades. These bridges typically require our high grade #1 or #1 Dense, Southern Yellow Pine with the support structure treated to .60 CCA and the upper structure treated to .15 or .31 CA-C. We then offer Kiln Drying After Treatment (KDAT) in order to strengthen and stabilize the wood.
