Smart Controllers
Presented by Tom Ash

Session overview: Noted smart water management expert Tom Ash will provide session attendees with an in-depth review of smart irrigation controllers for water-efficient landscape management. He'll review the forces that have led to our current water crisis and the wave of new government mandates to protect our precious water supply. All over the U.S., mandatory local water agency restrictions severely limit watering days and times. Trend-setting California law now requires the use of smart controllers. Attendees will learn what key questions to ask when implementing smart controllers as part of a water management program. For example, what makes the technology smart and what is the best technology to use for new construction versus retrofit? How to avoid expensive system maintenance costs will also be covered. This session is a must for landscape professionals seeking to maximize efficiency while reducing costs, risk and liability. Speaker Biography Tom Ash, Director of Conservation, HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc. Horticulturist Tom Ash (Cal Poly, 1981) has over 25 years of experience in water use efficiency.
