Women in Construction offer college scholarships




The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is an international association of women employed in all areas of the construction industry from skilled trades to business ownership. NAWIC was started in 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas by a group of women employed in the construction industry. Since this time, NAWIC has grown to a membership of more than 4,500 with hundreds of chapters throughout the United States
and Canada.

The Quad-City Chapter 50 of the National Association of Women in Construction has scholarships available for students interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry.

Fields covered include architecture; landscape architecture; interior design; civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering; drafting; and construction management. The minimum scholarship awarded is $1,000. Funds may be used at any college or vocational school.

Applications are available on line at www.NAWICQC.org. The application deadline is May 31.
