Nicole Sherry was recently promoted to the position of head groundskeeper for Oriole Park at Camden Yards, making her only the second woman to hold the position with a major-league baseball team.


St. Mark?EUR??,,????'???s High and University of Delaware graduate Nicole Sherry was named head groundskeeper for Oriole Park at Camden Yards by the Baltimore Orioles, making her just the second woman to hold that position with a major-league baseball team. Sherry, who was the Orioles?EUR??,,????'??? assistant head groundskeeper from 2001 through 2003, served for the last three seasons as the head groundskeeper for the Eastern League?EUR??,,????'???s Trenton Thunder, the Class AA minor-league affiliate of the New York Yankees. She returns to the Orioles to replace Dave Nehila, who resigned last month to pursue other business opportunities. Heather Nabozny, who has been with the Detroit Tigers since 1999, is the only other female head groundskeeper in major-league baseball.
