According to a news release from Portage County Executive Mark Maslowski, Kolodziej hired an employee of the department on contract for tree cutting. Kolodziej then assisted in the work and was paid part of the contract money, ?EUR??,,????'??essentially paying himself above his salary,?EUR??,,????'?? according to the news release.

Kolodziej also paid another employee as a private contractor for county work to furnish supplies to the facilities department without using the county?EUR??,,????'???s mandatory competitive quotes for bids.

?EUR??,,????'??These issues resulted in findings of self-dealing and use of the office for personal gain,?EUR??,,????'?? according to Maslowski?EUR??,,????'???s news release.
