The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has announced there will be limits on the movement of wood outside of Wisconsin.

Previously the movement of wood and other plants was restricted to only certain counties placed under quarantine, but now that has extended to the entire state.

Only firewood can be exported from Wisconsin to other states.

Businesses will have to work with the USDA to move wood inside of the state. The county-to-county quarantines slowed the spread of the emerald ash borer, but now officials are trying to prevent it from spreading west.
