Field Session and Annual Dinner
Thanks to all who joined WI ASLA in Green Bay for our fall Field Session, Annual Meeting, and Recognition Awards celebration. The day started out at Neenah Foundry where we learned about the manufacturing process and toured part of their facility. From there, the group made their way up to Green Bay for tours of Bay Beach and the Broadway District. Bay Beach is a city owned amusement park with a rich history and unique plans for beach restoration in the bay. In the Broadway District, we heard about plans for revitalization and strategies for redevelopment. We also discussed the Shipyard Redevelopment Project that is currently under construction in the area. The field session tour ended with a walk through the Titletown District. It was great to learn about the design and programming decisions that were made for this year round destination right outside Lambeau Field. The evening concluded with the WI ASLA Annual Meeting where we discussed Chapter business and accomplishments. We also took this opportunity to present recognition awards to members with exemplary achievements and service to the profession.

2022 WI ASLA Awards were announced at the Jensen-Longenecker and WI ASLA Awards Banquet at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in April. It was great to come together for the awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of students and professionals in Wisconsin. The event was full of mingling and awards presentations along with dinner and drinks at Memorial Union.

2022 WI ASLA Spring Conference
Thank you to all who attended our 2022 WI ASLA Spring Conference at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. It was great to re(connect) in person with colleagues and sponsors to celebrate the future of landscape architecture in our communities and state. We had many wonderful presenters who showcased their project examples, design processes, and other historical knowledge of the profession.
We look forward to seeing everyone next year when the conference heads back to the City of Madison.

Field Session: Madison Isthmus: Present, Past, and Future
A tour of the Wisconsin State Capitol kicked off the Madison Isthmus field session. From there, the group traveled down State Street stopping at various improvements along the way including Lisa Link Peace Park, State Street Mall, East Campus Mall, Library Mall and Alumni Park. The session highlighted the past, present and future development of State Street, the urban fabric of the city, civic spaces, and the importance of equitable design. The tour ended with a happy hour sponsored by Landscape Forms at Memorial Union Terrace.

Field Session: Wausau River Life
The Wausau River Life field session began with a tour of the Kafka Granite Crushing Facility. After that, the tour moved downtown to highlight civic and downtown redevelopment efforts. The field session also featured several riverfront attractions along the Wisconsin River including the Wausau Whitewater Park and an overlook along the River Life Trail. The tour ended with a brownfield redevelopment project, River Life Park, highlighting the custom playground with integrated lighting, fitness course, shoreline restoration, marina, and kayak launch. A happy hour was sponsored by Ultimate Playgroundsat the conclusion of the tour.
