Wisconsin ASLA Survey Results Are In

Reveal the State of the Profession in Wisconsin

In a survey sent to 392 Wisconsin Landscape Architects in September 1993, the Board members of WASLA asked questions regarding how to make membership in ASLA more attractive. The questionnaire consisted of thirty-three questions and had 110 respondents. Approximately one-half of the responses came from WASLA members.

WASLA Board members Karol Kulas, Rosheen Styczinski and Margarete Harvey recently released their report of the results. "Of course, we would have liked a higher response," Ms. Harvey noted, "but considering the time it takes for one to sit down and answer thirty-three questions, we are pleased with the results."

Question number fifteen asked whether or not the respondant was a licensed Landscape Architect.

The answers are in the chart below.

Ms. Harvey also noted that her analysis into the income of Landscape Architects has revealed that "people who earn the most are in the academics while people who design and build fall into the lower income brackets."
