BBC Sport's brand new Wimbledon trailer sees Toro take a starring role!

The All England Lawn Tennis Club has long relied on its exclusively Toro kit to help in its preparations for the Championships - so much so that the company's turf machinery and irrigation systems have become part of the fabric of the tournament.

The trailer, which sees a Toro sprinkler popping up from the turf and two Greensmaster pedestrian mowers cutting the courts, reflects just how crucial the kit is in the run-up to this, the 124th Championships.

Toro machines are used exclusively at the Championships and a company spokesman said the new advert highlighted how much a part of the fabric of the tournament they had become.

Speaking after last year's championships, Wimbledon head groundsman Eddie Seaward said he was pleased with the kit's performance.

"The mowers performed well all the way through the tournament, helping me keep the courts in good condition in spite of the hot weather. Everyone was extremely happy. The comments have been nothing but positive."

The Toro machinery used at the tournament includes:

  • 15 Greensmaster 1000 pedestrian mowers
  • 5 Greensmaster 1600 pedestrian mowers
  • 4 Greensmaster 3250-D riding mowers
  • 1 Reelmaster 3100-D Sidewinder riding mower
  • 8 Workman e2065 electric utility vehicles
  • 1 ProCore 648 aerator
  • 3 HydroJect water injection aerators
  • 1 Dingo TX compact utility loader
  • Toro irrigation- SitePro central control system to control courts 855S sprinklers -10 Precision Series spray nozzles.
