The small playground is dwarfed by Wescott Park's new Cal Ripken training facility, which has three scaled down replicas of major league fields designed by Stantec, with Cal Ripkin as consultant. Jerry Regenbogen was the principal landscape architect.

Wescott Park is also about nature, with boardwalks through natural areas.

Inspired by the Baseball Major League's skyline views at Atlanta's Turner Field, the Green Monster at Fenway Park, Boston and McCovey Cove at AT&T Park in San Francisco, Stantec has designed three ball fields as small-scale replicas "?u complete with sunken dugouts and in-ground terraced seating"?ufor Wescott Park in North Charleston, South Carolina. Cal Ripken was the consultant. The site includes a Cal Ripken practice facility with batting cages, pitching mounds and a circular training infield.

But it's not all about baseball. Wescott Park has boardwalks through natural areas, a dog park, a sand volleyball court and several picnic shelters. The Stantec team provided master planning, detailed design, construction documents, and construction administration services for the project, working closely with the community and the client to design a multiuse park to serve the recreation needs of North Charleston residents.
