Walter Dahlberg, Chairman of Lambert's

One of the Dallas-area's top landscape architects, Walter Dahlberg, was honored as one of seven people to be named as Outstanding Alumni for 2010 by Texas A&M College of Architecture for their achievements and excellence in professional leadership.

Dahlberg, now chairman of the board and senior landscape architect at Lambert Landscape Company, is recognized as one of the Southwest's leading landscape architects and planners. He was a partner from 1971-87 at Myrick Newman Dahlberg (MND), and upon the sale of MND, he became one of the owners of Lambert's.

For the last 23 years Dahlberg has focused on the planning, design and implementation of large and small gardens - to enhance the individual living environments of the Lambert's clients and their families. He continues to help manage the Lambert's company and Moore Companies.

Civically, Dahlberg has served on numerous boards and committees during his career and has helped pen many city and landscape planning guides. Currently he is most active in Texas Trees Foundation and is spearheading the development of Gateway Forest Park in Downtown Dallas and also serving as an advisor to Super Grow XLV, the Climate Control Initiative of the NFL Environmental Program.

The College of Architecture has bestowed the designation on less than one percent of its more than 14,000 graduates. In addition to Dahlberg, the 2010 honorees are David Applebaum, David Bomba, Helen Keaton, Bill Swango, Bill Wilson and David Zatopek.

Having celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2009, Lambert's is the oldest design/build landscape architectural firm in Dallas and one of the third oldest still in existence in the country with Maintenance and Tree Care divisions that focus on residential gardens of timeless designs-organically.
