Walker?EUR??,,????'????Macy has a history of active involvement in the ongoing revitalization of downtown Portland. From being part of the design team for Pioneer Courthouse Square, Portland's most-loved outdoor space, to leading restoration of the historic North and South Park Blocks, to their current expansion of downtown's Waterfront Park, the firm has helped shape the public open spaces for which Portland has become noted. The team specializes in public parks and plazas, higher education campuses, interpretive centers, and other projects that have a regional impact on all citizens. The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial at Washington Park, the Lewis & Clark College Signature Project and the Gorge Discovery Center are just a few of many examples demonstrating a commitment to excellence in all facets of site planning and design. Projects including the award-winning Jackson Bottom Resource Management Plan, the 62-acre expansion of Willamette National Cemetery, and master planning for Sun Lakes State Park in northeastern Washington demonstrate the firm's ability to successfully integrate land use, preservation, human use, and design aesthetics. From their offices in downtown Portland, the 30-person firm has worked on a wide variety of projects with public and private organizations throughout the United States, in Canada, Australia, and China. Through nearly 2,000 completed and ongoing projects, the partners and staff have earned a reputation for successful collaboration with architects, engineers, artists, historians and interpretive consultants to create solutions that are timeless, and of high quality.
