The Tier 4 Final/Stage IV-compliant EC480E crawler excavator from Volvo Construction Equipment combines superior efficiency, productivity and durability for maximum profitability in quarry and mass excavation applications.

The heavy-duty Volvo EC480E crawler excavator is a machine that lowers operating costs through reduced fuel consumption and simple maintenance requirements.

The full electro-hydraulics are matched to the engine and are controlled by an advanced system which provides on-demand flow and reduces power losses within the circuit. The unique Volvo ECO mode contributes to the machine's total improved efficiency "?u without any loss of performance in most operating conditions.

The integrated work mode system offers the operator a choice of work modes according to the task at hand "?u including I (Idle), F (Fine), G (General) and H (Heavy).

When the controls have been inactive for a pre-set amount of time, the excavator can be programmed to automatically reduce engine speed or even shut down to further reduce fuel consumption and noise. Operators can keep track of both current and average fuel consumption via a simple gauge in the cab.

EC480E has been designed for ease and simplicity of operation. All human machine interfaces "?u including the joysticks, keypad and LCD monitor "?u are ergonomically designed and positioned for comfort and control. The number of switches has been significantly reduced in comparison to previous models.

The 8-inch color LCD screen, displaying machine status information vital for maximizing productivity and uptime, is easy to read in any light. To ensure operator safety, a seat belt warning alarm sounds if the operator seat belt is not fastened when the ignition key is turned. For more information go to www.volvoce.com.
