Volvo Construction Equipment heavy-duty EC380E crawler excavator is a productive machine that lowers operating costs through reduced fuel consumption and simple maintenance requirements. Powered by a Tier 4 Final Volvo D13 engine, it delivers high digging and breakout forces alongside reduced emissions with a 9 percent improvement in fuel efficiency.

The excavator's hydraulics are perfectly matched to the engine and are controlled by an advanced system which provides on-demand flow and reduces power losses within the circuit. The unique ECO mode contributes up to 9 percent of the machine's total improved efficiency "?u without any loss of performance in most operating conditions. This helps increase control for more precise performance.

The integrated work mode system offers the operator a choice of four work modes – idle, fine, general or heavy "?u for optimum efficiency and machine performance. When the controls have been inactive for a pre-set amount of time, the excavator can be programmed to automatically reduce engine speed or even shut down to further reduce fuel consumption and noise. Operators can keep track of both current and average fuel consumption via a simple gauge in the cab.

Operators work more efficiently when given the best tools for the job. That is why EC380E has been designed for ease and simplicity of operation. All operator controls "?uincluding joysticks, keypad and LCD monitor "?u are ergonomically designed and positioned for optimum comfort and control. The number of switches has been significantly reduced in comparison to previous models, while the eight-inch color LCD screen, displaying machine status information vital for maximizing productivity and uptime, is easy to read in any light.

To ensure operator safety, a seat belt warning alarm sounds if the operator seat belt is not fastened when the ignition key is turned. Handrails and full-size guide-rails facilitate safe entry and exit of the cab and top of the upper frame, while easy-clean, anti-slip plates help the operator gain sure footing.
