Verde Design, working closely with stake holders from several user groups and operational staff, developed a master plan for the Googleplex exterior space which focused on improved pedestrian and bicycle circulation, increased seating and meeting space and redevelopment of the landscape and irrigation in the area. A new pedestrian and bicycle pathway gracefully arc through the center of the Googleplex. Additionally, event and operations staff needs were met by providing secondary access to allow movement of food and beverage carts without impeding flow of the main circulation patterns. We developed seating and shade arrangements for everyday use to be flexible but efficient. The entire irrigation system was rebuilt and converted to reclaimed water and the new planting utilize drip irrigation.

Morgan Hill Downtown Parks
Morgan Hill, Calif.
Verde Design was selected to provide the planning and design for three of the city's newest park sites. Each park is unique in its environmental surroundings, topography, and proposed uses. The new parks provide the Morgan Hill community with three new recreational areas in which to enjoy, not only creative play experiences, but also two natural parks in the riparian and Oak woodlands.

San Jose Convention Center
San Jose, Calif.
In a collaborative effort with Populus Architects, Verde Design delivered a friendlier and inviting space for groups to gather during and following events. Verde Design developed a concept, which balances hardscape with plants, some of which "climb" along the large public art piece at the center. An amphitheater area with synthetic turf serves as an extension of the presentation hall, while providing flexible seating, as well as visual interest. The planting in the main concourse works together with the sculpture element. A "small forest" of ginkgo trees accented with planting fills out the canvas.

Lake Cunningham
San Jose, Calif.
Verde Design was selected to provide professional services for this bike park, located on the upper knoll of a 270-acre regional park, adjacent to and surrounding the skate park, which was also designed by the Verde team. The skate park is the largest regional skate facility west of the Mississippi, with the world's largest cradle, tallest vertical wall, and longest full pipe - all of which are Guinness World Records. The new bike park secures Lake Cunningham Regional Park as the premier outdoor adventure sports park in California. Drainage improvements were designed, bioswales were constructed to allow filtering of stormwater runoff as well as a small detention basin. Landscape design for the site was completed with drought-tolerant, native plantings, making this world-class park sustainable as well.

San Jose State University
San Jose, Calif.
Verde Design has a successful track record working with the school since its first partnership in 2009. The relationships built from previous projects, and our knowledge of specific sporting requirements, provide a unique set of skills that allow us to better support the university in achieving its past, present, and future goals. To date Verde Design has designed the tennis complex, a 17-acre golf training facility, the softball complex, and the Spartan Stadium/practice fields.
