VectorWorks and RenderWorks 10 Released ARCHITECT and LANDMARK 10 also Now Available ?????EUR??,,?EUR ?????EUR??,,?EUR COLUMBIA, Md?EUR??,,????'??+Nemetschek North America recently the release of VectorWorks, RenderWorks, ARCHITECT, and LANDMARK 10. Company officials stated that these latest versions focus on fundamental drawing efficiency while bringing the artistry back to design. VectorWorks 10 includes better compatibility with other CAD/CAM programs, as well as offering improved technologies to allow design professionals to work faster, while at the same time create cleaner, more attractive plans. The international English version will ship mid-October and users of localized versions should check with their local distributors for availability. Sean Flaherty, Chief Technology Officer for Nemetschek North America, stated, "The most exciting aspect of this release is our focus on productivity. Sometimes this comes through new features and other times by making sure the existing features work better to maximize the efficiency of our users. In this update our users will see a product that is designed around their needs rather than a checklist of some new technology of the day. We've listened carefully to our users needs and have made VectorWorks the most productive CAD package available." Some of the efficiency improvements in VectorWorks 10 include interface changes such as dynamic zooming and scrolling, customizable context menus, a double click to edit objects, more flexible keyboard shortcuts, and palette docking improvements. VectorWorks 10 offers new presentation features, like gradients and image fills that are typically reserved for high-end design programs. Other presentation improvements include improved Hidden Line and Dashed Hidden Line rendering and improved wireframe extrudes. Now integrated into all VectorWorks products, 3D Power Pack offers version 10 users advanced solids, surface, and solid/surface modeling capabilities. Tweaks to the solids modeling engine improved some operations four-fold. Additionally, 3D Power Pack offers improved shelling and enhanced NURBS curve and surface manipulation. Better compatibility can be found with improved import and export options. VectorWorks 10 has Stereo Lithography File export and an Import/Export IGES command, as well as offering enhanced export image functionality. DXF/DWG received a boost with dimension translations, associative hatches and fills, and the ability to import as a symbol.
