ValleyCrest Landscape Companies announces Richard A. Sperber will be promoted to chairman of the board of ValleyCrest effective May 1, 2012.
Calabasas, Calif.-based ValleyCrest Landscape Companies, founded in 1949 by Burton S. Sperber, is the nation?EUR??,,????'???s largest integrated landscape services company, with annual revenue of more than $850 million, more than 10,000 employees and operations in more than 150 locations nationwide.
As chairman, Richard Sperber will focus on charting the vision and direction of ValleyCrest?EUR??,,????'???s family of companies, while remaining involved with client and employee growth and development strategies.
As part of this transition, Roger Zino will be promoted to CEO, but will remain president of ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance. Zino joined the company in 2001 and oversees more than 120 maintenance branch offices across the U.S. Maintenance is the company?EUR??,,????'???s largest division.
?EUR??,,????'??For him [Burton S. Sperber, founder of ValleyCrest in 1949] it started and ended with an intense focus on our customers and our people, and that dual focus will never change,?EUR??,,????'?? said Zino.
Zino joined ValleyCrest following 10 years in the Los Angeles office of McKinsey & Company as a principal and one of the leaders of the firm?EUR??,,????'???s service operations practice. In earlier years he was a manufacturing planning specialist at Ford and a senior auditor and CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. Zino has an MBA from the Harvard Business School, holds bachelor?EUR??,,????'???s degrees in accounting and computer science (Georgetown) and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
Andrew Brennan, who began working for ValleyCrest in 2003, has rejoined the company as chief operating officer of ValleyCrest Landscape Companies, effective January 16, 2012. This newly-created position reports to Zino. Previously, Brennan served as chief operating officer of ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance.
?EUR??,,????'??My goal is to ensure our corporate and functional leadership stays as connected as possible to our regional and branch operations, so as to better understand and support their needs in the service of our customers,?EUR??,,????'?? said Brennan. ?EUR??,,????'??We will continue to leverage technology and lean principles to better deliver against our customer?EUR??,,????'???s needs and to reduce waste in all areas of the business.?EUR??,,????'??
?EUR??,,????'??These are smart changes, because they put in place solid underpinnings and structure to support our long-term goals,?EUR??,,????'?? said Richard Sperber.
