For four years in a row the Valley Crest Tree Company has hosted the SCC/ASLA Bar-b-que. For four years in a row it has been a tremendous success. On July 25th at their San Juan Capistrano facility nearly 150 landscape architectural firms were represented by 750 landscape architects and guests.
The dinner, consisting of tri-tip beef and BBQ chicken with the ‘fixins’, was highlighted by live country/western music and dancing. This year a horse drawn hayride through the VCTC specimen nursery was a popular addition.
This is an annual event. If you missed it this time keep an eye out for next years BBQ. As those there would tell you it was a great time and place to see old friends and make new friends in a professional yet relaxed atmosphere.
For those of you outside the realm of the SCC/ASLA this is a party that is tough to match. But...if you’re going to try, let us know. It’s great to see a professional community really enjoying its environment. If you’re putting on a shing-ding or have been to an event worth talking about let us help you spread the word.
