Held at the Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills on June 30, the awards event recognized a group of outstanding contractors for work in several categories. The goal of the awards program is to reward excellence, to recognize craftsmen who produce outstanding landscapes, to create pride in superior workmanship and to bestow public recognition on hardworking professionals for their efforts towards a more beautiful California.

In all, there were 17 first-place award winners, 11 were recognized for outstanding achievement and 8 were honored with kudos in special award categories. The San Fernando Valley Chapter of the CLCA has been meeting since 1959.

F. H. Arklin Award, presented to the project that best exhibits excellence in craftsmanship ?EUR??,,????'??? Gothic Landscaping of Valencia.

Excelsior Award, presented to a first year member exhibiting excellence in craftsmanship ?EUR??,,????'??? SLM Services of Simi Valley.

Bob Moore Memorial Award, presented to the contractor whose work shows the best use of rock and boulders ?EUR??,,????'??? Mystic Water Gardens of Encino.
