It's good news for landscape architects in Utah. The legislature has approved legislation that eliminates LAs from the state's sunset law, which requires state programs, agencies, boards, and commissions to undergo a periodic performance review. The Legislative Oversight and Sunset Act holds that a review gives the state the right to eliminate licensure or a government program or agency. Originally, architects and medical professionals were exempt from this review. Through the work of Utah ASLA chapter members, the bill was later amended to include landscape architects.
