U.S. Bureau of Labor Job Statistics for August

Job Openings Decreased in 26 States and Increased in Two States

September 2022 statistics are expected to be released in November.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, August saw job openings decreased in 26 states, increased in two states, and stayed about the same in the 22 other states. Overall rates for the nation saw job openings decrease, hire rates stay the same, and total separations rate stay similarly stagnant.

The hire rate in August increased in six states, decreased in three states, and stayed about the same in 41 states. In the realm of quitting and layoffs, total separations rates increased in eight states, decreased in two states, and stayed about even in 39 states. Nationally, the hiring rate as well as the total separations rate stayed about even during the month of August.
