U.S. and Asian Students Team to Develop Urban-Design Proposals

 

Japanese students only recently visited the Seattle site, but have been working online with UW students since September 2005.

Eleven landscape architecture students from Japan?EUR??,,????'???s Chiba University have joined their counterparts at the University of Washington to develop site designs for Seattle?EUR??,,????'???s Chinatown-Nihonmachi-Little Saigon-International District. The global classroom project also includes designs for Kogane, Japan, a historic Japanese neighborhood near Tokyo. The American and Japanese students pair off on each site.
