Practice professor emeritus of landscape architecture at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, Laurie Olin, will be the subject of a documentary about his landscape architectural career. The documentary is entitled SITTING STILL with Laurie Olin: America's Urban Designer.Olin's stamp has appeared on several recognizable projects as the founding principal of the Philadelphia-based firm, OLIN, including the Washington Monument Grounds in Washington, D.C., the Getty Center in Los Angeles and the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. Olin, who received an honorary Doctor of Arts at Penn this year, has also contributed significantly to the master planning and development of the UPenn campus. While Olin's projects garner excitement and respect, filmmaker Gina Angelone, who has done a majority of the filming at OLIN's offices and on UPenn's campus, explains she is not simply listing all of the landscape architect's famous sites. Instead, according to a news article found on UPenn's website, she intends to help viewers understand the mind of an iconic designer and find out how he connects people and places. The film is slated to come out in 2020.To learn more about the documentary's progress, visit https://www.sittingstillmovie.com. To read the complete news article on the documentary, click HERE.
