Upcoming Webinar: Bringing Streams Back Into The Landscape

November 18 at 11:00am - 12:00pm PST

Join The Landscape Expo Academy and Mary Scipioni for a live webinar and earn CEUs/PDHs.

Webinar Information

This webinar is about designing streams. Unpredictable weather events include powerful rainstorms and floods that worn-out infrastructure can't handle. Bioswales and rain gardens are detention structures, but streams are daylighted freshwater channels that offer opportunities to carry stormwater through a watershed into freshwater reservoirs, lakes, and wetlands. By understanding how stream structure changes as it moves through different landscape contexts, you will be able to conceive designs that turn culverts and ditches into beautiful features while rebuilding our freshwater systems. A case study of a Pebble-stream project will be shared.

Learning Objectives

1. Understand healthy stream structure and function.
2. Identify performance standards for handling in-streaming stormwater
