Pamela Moore, the manager of programs and services for PLANET (The Professional Landcare Network) told Landscape Online that the winners of the 2013 Safety Recognition Awards will be notified in August and honored at an awards banquet on October 25th during the Green Industry Expo.
The Safety Recognition Awards Program, sponsored by CNA, is designed to reward landscape industry companies that consistently demonstrate their commitment to safety. All green industry companies and branches are eligible to enter.
"CNA enthusiastically supports the Safety Recognition Awards Program," said James F. Martin, CIC, CRM, CRIS, Construction Underwriting Director, CNA. "Companies that participate in the program demonstrate their commitment to safety and it reflects their dedication to creating and maintaining safe work environments."
Awards will be given in the following categories: No Vehicle Accidents, No Injuries or Illnesses, No Days Away From Work and Most Improved (open to companies who participated in previous year's programs)
In addition, companies may qualify for the Overall Safety Achievement Award, which honors thorough, high-performing, safety programs that create and maintain safe work environments.
And for the second year, the "Best of the Best" award will be presented to companies that have received Overall Safety Achievement Award–Gold Performance status for the past three consecutive years.
The data from all submissions will be included in the Safety Benchmarking Survey. Companies not applying to the awards program can still have their data included in the survey by submitting it at www.landcarenetwork.org/riskmgmt/benchmarking.cfm.
Companies that complete the survey will receive a free copy of the report. All data submitted is kept confidential.
GIE is scheduled for October 23, 24, 25 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville Ky. The Safety Recognition Awards banquet will be held at the Marriot in downtown Louisville.
