"Edge of Africa" Brings Honors

FCA Awarded for Landscape Design

ORLANDO, FL

The National Landscape Association's American Garden Awards recently presented the Landscape Architects of Foster Conant & Associates (FCA) a Certificate of Merit for their landscape design of Edge of Africa, Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The Orlando-based firm was recognized for their work in the "Best Use of Plants, Commercial" category. Comments made by the Judges on the project include "exceptional biodiversity - important new technology in sustainable environments," and "innovative research to develop new construction techniques." FCA Project Designer John Sullivan explained, "We spent several months of extensive research to determine plant material and grasses that would mimic an African savannah and be sustainable in Central Florida's environment before designing the attraction."
