Our Final Year Capstone Project 2023
Urban Escape - A Step Towards Healthier Living by Gauri Patil
Urban Escape is a project focused on today's need to increase green spaces in urban environments through mini forests, which would benefit physical health and serve as a space that would help nurture the mental health of communities. The site will offer an excellent opportunity to educate everyone about the Wasson Way railroad and how this project is benefiting their health. This dedicated place will help trigger sensory activities through design implementation and encourage social and

Sewing Marginal Space by Mini Forest by Xu Cao
Cincinnati Wasson Way Corridor is a planned 1.86-mile trail expected to connect various entertainment and green facilities in the city. Significant urban environmental problems were found when focused on the Wasson Way corridor. The proportion of urban impermeable pavement is up to 50%, the intensification of the urban heat island effect occurs in the vicinity of Crown Corridor, and disconnected waters of the site lead to habitat fragmentation, reducing the living space of organisms and resources for food access. So, the mini-forest approach was designed to protect and beautify the living space by searching for the ecological marginal space.

Our First Year
In the first year of the Master of Landscape Architecture program, students are taking on a challenging project in Lower Price Hill. They're working on issues like urban heat islands, community engagement, site connectivity, and environmental concerns in this industrial area.

Our Second Year
In the second year of the Master of Landscape Architecture program, students are delving into a comprehensive study on multi-modal transportation. Their primary objective is to explore ways to enhance connectivity between spaces and
people through various transportation modes.
Under the guidance of their instructor, Jiahe Bian, students are analyzing sites, conducting case studies, and developing a urban master plan for Cincinnati's transportation system for more efficient, accessible, and sustainable mobility options.
