UC Davis Now Offering Construction Courses
Classes Start in January

December 6, 2018 - Just a few weeks ago, the University of California Davis Continuing and Professional Education Extension announced it would be offering several unique courses focused on multiple aspects of the construction industry.

The classes aim to educate construction managers, contractors and building professionals on a number of different topics. Discounts and financial aid opportunities are also available to those who qualify.

There are currently four highly focused classes available:
• Fast Track Construction Management Certification,
• Estimating, Preconstruction and Bidding,
• Integrating Construction Management Principles,
• Project Scheduling and Management.

The Fast Track Construction Management Certification class is a program that costs $4,462.50 and will be offered four times over the course of 2019. The first session begins on January 10, and the last is scheduled to begin on December 6.

Estimating, Preconstruction and Bidding teaches the essential practices and methodologies surrounding the estimation and bidding processes. Risk factors and roles of the estimator will be discussed. The class begins on January 7, and ends on March 25. Each individual session will be held on Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the entire course costs $895.

Integrating Construction Management Principles is the next class being offered by the university. The coursework will teach you how to take a holistic approach to proper construction project management and oversight. Instruction begins on January 10, ending on March 14. Class meets on Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the whole course costs $865.

Lastly, the Project Scheduling and Management curriculum teaches enrollees "a systems approach to project management as well as the historical development of planning methods. From preliminary design to final walkthrough..." Teaching begins on January 15 and lasts until March 19. Each class will be held on Tuesday at the same time as the other two above. Total cost for the class is $865.
