Environmental Measures Approved Despite Tax Increases
In examining the results of the 2020 election it was found that the national widely supported an increase in funding for local outdoor spaces. In fact, voters throughout the country approved a collective $3.7 billion in public funding for projects related to land conservation, outdoor recreation expansion, water quality improvement, wildlife protection, and other environmental initiatives. Lumber Prices Rising Since October
Homebuilders Uncertain About Supplies Availability
The most recent lumber prices show a continued rise with an over 180% increase since last spring and is heading towards an all-time high. These numbers have led to the average new single-family home cost $24,000 more than it was in April 2020. Lumber prices have been on an upward trend since late October leading to concern over housing affordability and construction cost.

AASHTO Approves the Bill
Congress and the White House have been working towards a new infrastructure bill for months and have finally put together a bipartisan legislation. This bill is said to contain $110 billion for roads, bridges, and similar projects, $66 billion for passenger and freight rail, $65 billion for broadband, $55 billion for water systems, and $39 billion for public transit.
