Pete Nelson, who has earned the nickname, "The Treehouse Man" for his proficiency at creating environmentally sustainable, architecturally unique and whimsical treehouses around the world, will have his work showcased on Treehouse Masters, a new series on the cable network, Animal Planet. Nelson has been building arboreal dwellings for 25 years. With his son Charlie, his wife Judy, and a team of skilled craftsmen, he has erected a wide variety of residences and other structures including a spa and a brewery. According to Nelson's company, their treehouses are designed to accentuate the beauty of the trees themselves and to be an enhancement to the natural landscape. Nelson proclaims that he can't stand the thought of clearing out property for a guest house or vacation home so he helps clients perch these properties in the trees, often complete with running water. Nelson was selected as one was one of Outside magazine's "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." He is the author of five books, including "Treehouses of the World" and "Home Tree Home," and his latest book is slated for a 2014 release. The Nelsons also operate Treehouse Point, a treetop bed and breakfast near their home outside of Seattle, Wash. You can contact Nelson Treehouse and Supply at www.nelsontreehousesupply.com. Treehouse Masters will be premiering on Friday, May 31st at 10 p.m. on Animal Planet.
