Each year the Society of Municipal Arborists announces an ?EUR??,,????'??Urban Tree of the Year.?EUR??,,????'?? We?EUR??,,????'???ve been reporting on the SMA selection for a number of years, but when we recently wrote about the 2007 top vote-getter, Roger Hunt, a field coordinator with Trees Forever, Columbus Junction, Iowa, wanted to know the winners from the last 12 years. Searching our website (landscapeonline.com) we found information on the SMA tree award going back to 1997, but were missing 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2003. We asked the SMA to help fill in the blanks and SMA member Steve Shurtz came through. Here now is that list:
