The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying has announced procedural changes that will affect those preparing for this year's exam administrations for landscape architecture. Test-takers will have a new way of ordering exam booklets, an earlier deadline for special accommodation requests, and only a short list of calculators to choose from. Last year, the NCEES developed a list of acceptable calculators that would be permitted in the exam room. These include the HP 33s and HP 9s, from Hewlitt Packard; the FX115 and FX115MS Plus from Casio; and the TI 30X IIS, TI 30X IIB and TI 36X from Texas Instruments. No other brand or type of electronic device is permitted. The NCEES is also requiring a 60-day advanced written request for special test accommodations, such as those for religious reasons, or for a person with a disability.
