The Museum of Modern Art in New York City is presenting ?EUR??,,????'??Groundswell: Constructing the Contemporary Landscape?EUR??,,????'?? February 25-May 16, 2005. The show comprises 23 landscape-design projects, from small urban plazas to entire urban areas, including landscapes reclaimed from neglect or abandonment. These outstanding projects are from North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
There is before and after photography and other visual media-models, drawings and video. A book by Peter Reed on the exhibit is forthcoming.
The midtown Manhattan museum, founded in 1929, now has 630,000 square feet of space, nearly twice the capacity of the former facility. Its interior promenade connects 53rd and 54th streets.
