SMU, the future site of the George W. Bush Presidential Library, is located five miles north of downtown Dallas. SMU was founded in 1911 by what is now the United Methodist Church, and opened in 1915. SMU says it is ?EUR??,,????'?????<

Robert A.M. Stern, dean of the Yale University School of Architecture, is the selected architect for the Bush Presidential Center. The center will comprise a presidential library, a museum with permanent and traveling exhibits and an independent public policy institute. The SMU complex has a projected finish date of 2013. The library and museum will be operated by the National Archives and Records Administration.

SMU was among eight competitors for the Bush Presidential Library project. SMU was chosen as the site, in part, because the university was willing to lease land for the project. The Presidential Library Foundation, chaired by Don Evans, notes that SMU has a significant presence in Dallas and there?EUR??,,????'?????<
