The Commercial/Retail Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. The Exchange at Boulevard One is one of several great projects we are excited to showcase on LandscapeArchitect.com.

The Exchange at Boulevard One encompasses over 139,000 square feet of dynamic mixed- use space that blends retail, office, and live-work environments. Designed to serve as a vibrant community hub, the development features a curated mix of amenities including a neighborhood market, brewery, restaurants, entertainment venues, and flexible office space.

Thoughtful design elements prioritize connectivity and pedestrian comfort, with intuitive walkways linking residential and retail zones. These corridors are lined with gathering spaces and comfortable seating, fostering a sense of community and encouraging people to linger and engage. Public art plays a prominent role in the space, with murals and sculptural installations integrated throughout, creating an immersive and visually stimulating environment. Safety and accessibility are at the forefront, with the design encouraging foot traffic while maintaining vehicular access. Although cars can reach the site easily, the experience is clearly oriented toward pedestrians, supporting a walkable, human-scale atmosphere.

To accommodate the functional demands of the development, both surface and structured parking facilities were incorporated, ensuring compliance with C-MX-5 zoning code parking requirements. The result is a lively, inclusive, and aesthetically rich destination that supports daily needs while enhancing the broader urban fabric of the surrounding neighborhood.
