The Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) awarded the landscape architecture, planning and urban design firm MESA its 2011 Planning Excellence Award for the master plan and landscape design for Central Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Dallas-based MESA, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2011, does comprehensive, master planning for commercial, civic, educational and institutional clients, but also intimate residential garden spaces on private estates. MESA?EUR??,,????'?????<???????????????????????(R)?EUR??,,????'????s high-profile Texas projects include Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano, the gardens at NorthPark Center in Dallas, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and the Shangri La Botantical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange.
Central Park?EUR??,,????'?????<???????????????????????(R)?EUR??,,????'????s first development phase includes the new public safety facility and ?EUR??,,????'?????<?????????????????The Summit,?EUR??,,????'?????<????????????????? a recreation center geared to active adults 50 years and older.
The Planning Excellence Award, as well as a variety of scholarships and other individual member and statewide project honors, was officially awarded at the TRAPS annual convention in early March in McAllen, Texas.
TRAPS, an affiliate member of the National Recreation and Park Association, is in its 70th year of supporting parks, recreation services in the Lone Star state.
