AUSTIN, Texas ?EUR??,,????'??+ The Texas legislature is considering reauthorizing the state?EUR??,,????'???s board of architectural examiners, the body that regulates architects, landscape architects, and interior designers. The Texas House has approved S.B. 283 with several amendments, including the elimination of a provision that would have required a landscape architect to be involved in any project related to public accommodation. This measure has been sent to the state Senate for concurrence with the amendments. The sunset cycle in Texas is every 12 years. The next analysis for landscape architects is scheduled for 2014. MONTGOMERY, Ala. ?EUR??,,????'??+ Alabama Governor Bob Riley has signed legislation to extend the state?EUR??,,????'???s licensure law for landscape architects until 2007. The sunset committee reviews the board of examiners of landscape architects every four years. In 2003, two changes were made to the law in conjunction with the extension of the sunset law: The law directs the governor to select those persons for the board who ensure the membership of the board is inclusive and reflects the racial, gender, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state; and the annual license fee for Alabama residents is increased from $100 to $150?EUR??,,????'??+consistent with the fee charged to nonresidents.
