AUSTIN, Texas - Cleve Turner reports that the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (TBAE) will soon be undergoing committee hearings for a Sunset Review.
"The Sunset Commission meets on the TBAE and other agencies every twelve years," Turner said. "Its a process whereby the agencies have to justify their existence or be legislated out. TBAE is getting all their documentation together to support continuation of the agency."
The committee meets from late-April or early-May until early Fall before making its recommendation. "Usually, one of the legislative members of the Sunset Commission will file a bill to re-establish or continue the agency," Turner said. The legislature begins in January of 2003.
