Task Force Will Look At City Landscaping Requirements

In Longview, Texas, the idea of an organizing a task force to review city ordinances that regulate development and landscape is moving forward.


According to city planner Michael Shirley, the idea of organizing a task force to look at Longview, Texas ordinances and codes dealing with development and landscaping requirements is becoming a reality.

In June at the Longview planning and zoning commission?EUR??,,????'???s monthly meeting the formation of the group was announced. The commission was told by Shirley recently, that he expects the task force volunteers to be named and working by next month.

?EUR??,,????'??We?EUR??,,????'???d like them to create a complete document,?EUR??,,????'?? which to be used as a guideline for future development and landscape requirements, he said. The group will likely meet and be in existence between six months and a year, Shirley said.

Karen Maines, chairwoman of the planning and zoning commission, said the group is charged with reviewing city ordinances that regulate development and landscape and with seeking public input on how the Longview future will look.
