The Synthetic Turf Council is now accepting nominations for the 2012 ''Search for the Real Field of Dreams''. The contest, first launched in 2009 recognizes the power that synthetic turf has to transform the lives of America?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s youth.
Past winners have used synthetic turf to create new and safe play zones, such as an economically challenged urban area that previously had a rundown, concrete school yard; a community park that serves children with physical and cognitive challenges as well as students at a Navajo Nation elementary school that have increased their fitness levels by playing on a synthetic turf playground.
This national contest is open to schools (K-12 and college), parks, businesses and public spaces in the United States and Canada that have the most compelling stories about the impact of their synthetic turf field or installation. A grand prizewinner will receive $1,000 and community recognition; finalists will also receive a monetary prize.
The final submission deadline is September 1, 2012. Winners are selected by an independent panel of judges, and will be announced by November 15, 2012.
Please note: the synthetic turf field or park must have been manufactured, built or installed by an STC member company.
